Train Your Way to Success

June 14, 2018 - Kayla Schradel
Hello racers,

Many people aspire to run a half marathon but can find it hard to know how to begin training for one. Luckily if you are competing or want to compete in this year's Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon the River City Runners and Walkers club is having weekly training clinics.

The clinics will be every Monday at 5:30PM leading up to the race. The distance you run/walk will vary each week to eventually build up to the entire 13.1 mile distance. The River City Runners and Walkers club will have volunteers to supply water and sports drinks in different parts of the path.

Having the support of people that have ran the News and Sentinel half marathon in the past can give a first time marathon runner the motivation to succeed. Training is open to everyone!

To sign up for the training sessions contact Kramar at kramtom@gmail.com or (304) 482-1737, or visit rivercityrunners.com and go to the “Member Toolkit” tab and click “Training.”

Stay tuned for more blogs and updates leading up to the race. If you have any questions about the race email me at halfmarathon@newsandsentinel.com.

Race day is approaching fast! Register now for the half marathon or the 2-mile race at www.newsandsentinelhalfmarathon.com.
