Course Connections - MILE 2: As you round the corner onto Ann Street you begin a very long climb out of town that begins with the crossing of the Little Kanawha River as you head toward U.S 50. When you cross the river you will go over the Parkersburg flood wall. The massive public works project was completed following a devastating flood in 1937. The two-mile mark of the half marathon is found in the middle of the bridge.
