Registration for the 2012 News and Sentinel Races is now open

Even though the start of the 2012 News and Sentinel Races is nearly eight months away, it’s never too early to start thinking about what events you want to take part in during the 2012 race season.

It must be the mild weather we are having because I’ve been getting asked a lot lately when the 2012 race registration is going to open.

The registration is now open, so if you plan on running in the Aug. 18 News and Sentinel Half Marathon or Two Mile Race, you can sign up now via the Active.com registration page.

After you sign up for the Parkersburg event you might want also to think about a couple of other events that are coming up in May.

Mud on the Mountain, an endurance event, will be held at Seven Springs Mountain Resort on May 12. The seven-mile event will have more than 20 obstacles on the course that climbs more than 1,000 feet up and over the mountains that make up the course.  We are working to give those taking part in the event a truly remarkable experience. The Ogden Half Marathon Classic will be ran in Wheeling on May 26. The News and Sentinel Races has for years partnered with the race and even award an additional tech shirt to people who take part in both events. Get more information at www.ogdenhalfmarathonclassic.com
