Vickers's running career:

I started running races locally in 2011, but I ran track in high school. I have completed 18 half marathons, four being the News and Sentinel Half Marathon. I set my personal record of 1:56:06 in Anaheim, California in the Tinker Bell Half Marathon at Disneyland.

Vickers's motivation:

Being able to say that my body was able to handle the distance, and of course it is all about earning the bling (medal).

Advice from Vickers:

Do not go out too fast, walk through the water stops and take water every 3-4 miles (at least that is what I usually do). Have fun, enjoy the experience and be proud of your accomplishment when you finish.
