The Vienna River Road Race, a 5-mile run and 5K walk, will be conducted on Saturday, April 21.
Sponsored by Camden Clark Medical Clark, the race is part of the River City Runners and Walkers Series and the River City Kids Series.
The 5-mile run will start at 8 a.m. with the 5K walk getting under way five minutes later. The kids races, for youths ages 3 through 11, will begin at 9 a.m.
All races will start and finish at the Jackson Middle School Stadium.
Entry fee is $12 if posted by April 14, $15 after April 14 and on race day. River City Runners & Walkers Club members may enter for $10. Forms are available online at rivercityrunnersclub.com under calendar. Registration will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. race day at the Vienna Community Building. Kids may sign up until 9 p.m. at the track.
Runners will take 34th Street to Grand Central Avenue, turning left onto 55th Street. They will take 55th to River Road and River Road to 34th Street, taking it back to Jackson Park.
Walkers will take 34th Street to Grand Central Avenue, turning left on 41st Street. They will take 41st to River Road and River Road to 34th Street, taking it back to Jackson Park.
Water will be available at the 2-mile and 3.5-mile marks for runners and at the halfway mark for walkers. Split timers will be at every mile marker for both events.
Awards will be presented to the first three overall male and female and masters male and female finishers as well as the first three places in each age group in the run and walk.
T-shirts will be given to all entrants.
The kids races will be 50 meters for 3-and-under; 100 meters for 4 and 5-year-olds; 200 meters for those 6 and 7; 400 meters for 8 and 9-year-olds and 400 meters also for those 10 and 11.
