Kenyans took the top four spots with Julius Koskei finishing second in 1:03:41, followed by Lemech Mosoti and Linua Chumba.

Winning the women's race was 29-year-old Malika Mejdoub of Morocco, who completed the 13.1-mile course in 1 hour, 14 minutes and 45 seconds. She was 13 seconds ahead of runner-up Yihunlish Delelecha of Ethiopia. Lilian Mariita was third and Alemtsehay Misganaw placed fourth.

A record number of participants took to the streets of Parkersburg on a mild August morning ripe for setting records.

In the two-mile race, Ohio University standout Tyler Cantley won the title for the fifth straight year, extending the streak of Warren High School victories in the 2-mile to 11. Cantley is now just one win away from tying the standard set by six-time champion Jason Linton, who competed for both Warren and Ohio University. Cantley finished in an unofficial time of 9 minutes and 40 seconds.

Kaylee Williams of Parkersburg High School won the women's 2-mile in 13 minutes and 19 seconds. Rachel Morris, also of PHS, placed second.

Complete details and race results will appear in Sunday's edition of The Parkersburg News and Sentinel and will appear online at www.newsandsentinelhalfmarathon.com
