The race to the starting line has begun

June 25, 2014 - Art Smith
Planning for the News and Sentinel Half Marathon is well underway. It’s shaping up to be the world-class event that people expect it to be.

Entry forms were delivered to SW Resources to be mailed out later this week. Racers can enter the race by returning the completed forms to us with payment. Runners and walkers also have the option of printing their own entry form as well as registering online by clicking on the link at the upper right corner of this page.

Racers come from all walks of life and many locations to take part in the annual races. By race time, we typically have people entered from around 30 states and five countries.

It interesting that the races currently has exactly the same number of male and female entries.

In terms of age, the races are a true cross section of the population. The youngest person currently registered is just three, and is signed up for one of the kids races. The oldest person is 77, more than twice as old as the average age, which is 38.

It’s going to be a great weekend of racing, but you can’t race if you don’t register and you save money if you sign up early. What are you waiting for? Click, sign-up, train, race – sounds easy right? Thirteen miles is never easy, but it will be fun, we look forward to seeing you
