Sorry for the lapse. I would like to say I have been on a wonderful vacation and have returned rested and ready to write, but that would be a lie. I am however running more and busy preparing for the upcoming half marathon and 2 mile race in August. I have been keeping up with Tom Joyce's blogs and have really enjoyed them. He is struggling a little as we all can and do but he has not given up. I hope that you are still ready to hit the road in August for a great 13.1 race. It is often difficult to focus when life and all that other stuff gets in the way. However I find if I can even sneak out for a little run I see everything so much clearer. I am including a picture of Chip Allman, me (Sharon), and Neil Brague. Though Chip and I will not be running the half marathon but instead waiting for all of you at the finish, Neil will be racing the half in August. The three of us filled a Saturday in July running the Rattlesnake 50K in Kanawha State Forest. It was Neil's first trip to Rattlesnake and he was lucky enough to be greeted by a rattler. This memory and this picture reminds me of why I love to run, friends and tall tales. Every race is a memory and every trip a chance to laugh and be a part of something. I can't wait to see you Saturday before the race, nervous and pacing, and of course I want to see you after the race describing your favorite part of the race - the finish!
